January 14th

For our last prescheduled day in Hong Kong we all went to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

After learning about their computer science program, we were shown some of the cool projects that their department was working on. We got to see a device that could show extremely detailed images of different "cuts" of a human body based on where the sensor was held.

We also got to see some cool work they have been doing with both 3D and also with virtual reality. They let us all try out a program they had developed for the Oculus Rift.

Kent, Andrew,  and Cody then gave a presentation on research they did into mutations of a protein used in treatment of Celiac disease. The CUHK students seemed very intrigued.

We then were served a very large lunch at one of the campus cantines and went on a tour of the campus. Along the way, we saw a bunch of students performing in the street and learned that they elect their student government as a whole cabinet, not individually by office, and that these performances are actually how the different cabinets campaign.

From the college, we all went up to Victoria Peak and looked out over the city. At first, the view wasn't that great, but for those of us who stayed until after dark, we got a real treat.

On our way back to the hotel, Jason and Cody joined in with the ladies dancing. They claim it was to teach Adam a lesson in confidence.
