Day 5 - Xi'an

Day 5:
Today we arrived in Xi'an after riding an 11 hour overnight train. We met our guide and drove to the hotel. Once we got there, we took an hour rest and ate breakfast. Then we drove to see the Terracotta Warriors! First we had lunch and went to a tea ceremony.

The Terracotta Warriors were magnificent! They were built during the Qin dynasty. The emperor is known for unifying China (7 states into 1) and also for enslavement and the killing of many people. He buried hundreds of Confucius scholars alive, enslaved countless of people to build his Terracotta Army, underground burial palace, and the Great Wall.

We were so impressed with the Terracotta Warriors!
